    Hi andycarp - Welcome to the Board :)

    I think you are confusing explorer.exe (Windows Explorer) with iexplore.exe (Internet Explorer).

    Please post your OS and I will move your thread to the appropriate forum.

    When we know your OS the appropriate advice/solution can be given.

    Without computer specifics here are some generic nonspecific answers......

    Possibilities for your perusal:

    http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/ermsvcrt.htm#ERREXPLORER

    And from archived files of past posts:

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24946&highlight=msvcrt

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10395&highlight=msvcrt

    ======
    As said, when more details are given more detailed answers can be given. Please remember to post your fix if and when found. It's always helpful to know what fixes have worked the most frequently. You may help save another board member in the future.

    Hope this helps though :D.

    I had lots of problems like that a while back but then i found the easiest way to solve the problem, and you should have the same configuration as me if your internet explorer was downloaded from microsoft and not from an isp install disc.

    Goto start, settings, control panel then double click on add/remove programs then scroll down the list to microsoft internet explorer sp1 and internet tools then click it once to highlight then press the remove button (dont worry now), it will give you a couple of options. click on the one that says restore to previous windows configuration then it will tell you to restart and afterwards goto windows update problem solved! :)
