    Hello,
I have XP pro with SP1. Receint went to cable mode (from dial-up) I have a Toshiba PCX2200 cable modem. Since going to cable I have having problem with IE6 and outlook express.. Each of them is taking a long time to activate after clicking on the short cuts. Also with IE6, I am getting frequent NOT RESPONDINGs. Also, after explorer comes up and I put in a www address explorer sometimes freezes. If i click on any of the top line menu options (file, edit...) nothing happens. I try to close explorer and that does not work. If I unplugg the modem IE unfreezes, all the menu options i clicked on appear. And them IE closes. I am using the cable modem on a USB port. I thought it might be a conflict with my printer (which is also on a USB) but after unplugging the printer (from the port) I am still having this problem. If I go back to the dial up (with the cable modem unplugged) I dont have any problems with explorer or outlook

Your cable provider should be able to talk you through this. It sounds to me that the cable isn't working properly.
