Explorer folder options restriction

I'm using windows XP. I know there is a way that the options on windows Explorer can be restricted to other users so that they can't modify it, especially on the Tools>Folder Options>View Tab.I don't want other users (limited account) who can logon to my PC to modify it especially the options to hide/unhide the hidden files/folders. Can somebody please help me on this? Thanks...

 

Assuming that you're using XP Pro, have you checked the Group Policy Editor? That's the most likely location for the restrictions you want.

You will want to remove access to both the Folder Options in the Tools menu and the applet in the Control Panel.

Run:
gpedit.msc

Navigate to:
User Config\Admin Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer
and configure the "Removes the Folder Options Menu..." item.

Then:
Admin Templates\Control Panel
and configure "Prohibit Access to the Control Panel" or "Hide specified Control Panel applets "
