Windows Vista .exe problems

I was recently sorting out a WUDFRd.sys error on my computer and after finally fixing it now my computer treats all .exe files on my computer as if they were downloaded from the internet and will not load them properly.

Name: iexplorer.exe
Type: EXE file, 611kb
From: C\Program Files (X86)\Internet Explorer

Then gives me the option to run/save/cancel.

If i click to run it it gives me a security warning and asks me if i still want to run it. And if i click run again it takes me back to the original error.


Any ideas of what could be causing this or possible fixes would be appreciated.
