Hey - our site is going to be upgrading just about every single server to 2003 very shortly. My worry is about Exchange 5.5 which is currently running in a Windows NT 4.0 environment. Microsoft has come right out and said that Exchange 5.5 can run within a Windows 2003 environment but it must be installed on a Windows nt4.0 or 2000 server machine.

-- Anyone out there had any experience with running exchange 5.5 in a Windows 2003 environment ?? Your thoughts would be of great benefit.

    Thanks,

    Bart

Exchange 5.5 is just not compatible with Windows 2003. Microsoft would recommend upgrading to Exchange 2000 SP3 or Exchange 2003.
However if this is not possible because of cost or something else, then keep your Exchange 5.5 running on a Windows 2000 system with the ADC (active directory connector) and setup your Windows 2003 forest / domain.

    thanks

Thanks Eric....your response falls in suit with what information I've managed to gather thus far. Hopefully we'll be able convince the upper echelon of management to move forward on a software upgrade.....
