Excell

Work computer started smoking. It Died. I was given another newer (but still old) model. I use comments to keep track of entries in excel. One day I was not able to use the comments. I checked with the IT dept, and he suggested to save the file under a new name. I did and when I opened it, I was able to put in comments. This week (monday) I opened the old file by mistake (no comments) and closed it. went to the new file and no comments in that one either. Also when I open either file the cell I left it at is not visible. Pressing any arrow key takes me to a random cell near the beginning of the document and all of the data is scrambled. I close the document without saving. I reopen it and use the mouse to go to a cell and I don't have any lost/scrambled Data. But still no comment function. The IT just scratches his head in wonder and states he has never seen that before. My Address at work is Samatejov@pidgeon.com.

OS and Excel versions?
