When I have been on line for a while, all of a sudden whatever I am doing turns white and freezes up.
I live in Florida, so I know it ain't snowin'.

    Hi Brat
Welcome to the boards! Can you tell us a bit more about your system? What size? How much Ram?
When you do a ctrl/alt/del after a fresh boot....what all do you have listed in the close programs dialogue box?

To add just a little bit more........

    When posting a message

    Use a Descriptive Title
The forums here get pretty busy at times. Make it easier for everyone by providing a descriptive title. "Please help!" and "I have a problem" are poorly worded titles. Instead, describe your question or problem in the title, like "explorer error kernel32?" or "Need help getting Super Webcam mode working." This makes it easier for people with the answers to find your post and provide an answer.
(Arie's pet pieve: You will eventually be locked out of the original post, if it is "flagged for" and you are asked to "change the "Subject Tittle" " of your post and you fail to do so.)

Some possible points to ask yourself or to include in your problem description:
*Which windows version are you using? Are you in the correct Forum Room?
*If this is an application, what version is it?
*What are you trying to do?
*What is the error you see?
    *When does it happen?
*What did you expect to happen?
    *How often does it happen?
*Quote the exact error and any details that may be offered if you are able to click on the "Details Button" (use the Edit menu to Copy and Paste the text of the error messages into your forum posting.)
*Any programs, updates or devices you may have recently installed or uninstalled.
*What have you done, already, in an effort to fix it?
*If this is a lockup or freeze issue, is it isolated to the program (and cured after ending the task) or is it system wide requiring a complete reboot?

To sum up....be as descriptive as you can. The content under the section "descriptive tittle" was not dirrected at you personally but was included in my comment for all future readers.

    ===========
What you have wriiten so far can happen in everything, doing anything, using anything and be caused by everything in your computer with the possible exception of the last line, "I live in Florida, so I know it ain't snowin'. Even this has been known to happen on ocassion. I've lived in San-Diego, Calif. and am in Houston, Tx. I've played in the snow in both places.

We need to narrow this a bit. :)

You may have something running in the background, taking up too much processor time, so the screen does not get refreshed, giving you a white area where a window should be.
This can be caused by a corrupt file, or something downloading and installing, or a hardware issue.
    We really need more info.
