    Hi all,

In Event Viewer | Application I've noticed the time is sometimes waaay off.

For example: EV shows "SecurityCenter" was started at 11:52:19PM.

At that time the computer was off and I was asleep. There's other Information\Error listings also for when the computer is off.

I'm experiencing no problems but I'm curious as to what's going on.

Have you checked the system clock?

Double click the time at the lower right of the Desktop panel. A window should open up showing the calendar date and the current time for your time zone. If the time is wrong it may be cause by a depleted CMOS battery which is typically mounted on the motherboard.

If you system is still SP2 you should be aware SP2 and earlier are no longer supported by Microsoft. You should update to SP3.

    Hi Scout,

Date, time, and time zone are right on. As a matter of fact, the time runs a little fast. The battery is good, too.

    Why the wrong time stamp?

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for the link and answer "” although for the life of me I can't figure out why it would be logged as GMT on only that one event, yet all other events are PST (GMT -8).
