Is it difficult to install an Ethernet card?
Ntl have advised me to swap the USB for an Ethernet card because the internet connection is dropping after about 20 mins.

No big deal! Remove the case plug it in! Make sure you have the driver.

Make sure you have all internet settings first.

Don't forget to completely uninstall the USB device and all software related to it.

You don't say what OS you use but in win2k and Xp there is a setting to allow or disallow a device to be powered down. This may fix the problem.

But you are better off with a PCI nic, less OS overhead, and more mature. USB is nice for convience.
