Recently I have been having a fair amounts of errors happening to my pc, stuff that would point towards vista being corrupted in some way, files missing or something I'm not quite sure. The nail was put in the coffin today when I couldnt access my user logging, A message showed saying "The user profile service failed the login. User profile could not be loaded" Something along those lines. Whether they are related but occasionally when I shut down my PC it turns itself back on again, it also didn't turn on a couple times when asked to which further makes me wonder whats up :(

I don't know how I could save it if If it was possible at all, any help would be greatly appriciated!

P.S. Can you do a vast system recovery from another user?

I'm running vista 64bit, if you need anymore information please do ask.

Edit: I did a system restore to yesterday and I can log in, but I don't know what caused it so the problem goes on.

Sorry for posting this in the wrong section, I wasn't sure if it could be spyware related.

It might be due to malware. Have a look at the "sticky" posts in the Viruses and Malware Removal forum. Get a "second opinion" antispyware program if you want, but don't let it run/clash with your present security programs. Run some online scans.

"Corrupted in some way ", it may be what you have allowed to install yourself. Have you disabled User Account Control?

In Control Panel -> User Accounts, try making a new user account and see how that works. For a Beginner it is recommended that you run in a Standard User account, that way detrimental software cannot install without you getting an idea that something might not be "right ".

Look at what is installed on your system...Control Panel -> Programs and Features. What do you allow to install on your system? Do a websearch of what you are looking to install and check if there are numerous negative responses.
