HELP! All of a sudden I am getting an error window that says "Explorer has caused an error in FLT.DLL Explorer will now close. "
This happens when I boot the system or when I try to launch MY COMPUTER, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, CONTROL PANEL, SEARCH, ETC. I can start other programs and they seem to run OK. What can I do to correct this situation. Any help will be appreciated.

This is not an XP file. It is spyware, possibly to be found here:
    C:\Program Files\flt\flt.dll

Try deleting it. If you can't, unregister it first. Run:

    regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\flt\flt.dll "

If you still can't delete it, look for startups in msconfig that relate to it, remove them if found, reboot, and try again.

This spyware is a Browser Helper Object. These can be controlled by BHOdemon:

    It's registry entry is here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects
