    Hi,

I'm trying to monitor the network traffic in my workplace and downloaded a trial program to do so, but I need ti first switch my network adpater to promiscuous mode. Anybody know how I can do that? I using a Marvell Yukon Gigabit Adapter on WinXP.

Device manager/net adapter/properties/advanced tab IF your adapter supports promiscious mode at all.

Try Ethereal, it's a free open source sniffer:

If your comp is connected to the lan via a router/switch, you may need to put it in the dmz so as to grab all net traffic other than your own or you will have to place the comp ahead of the router via a hub, e.g. capture all traffic in and out before it reaches the router and after it leaves the router.
