I'm using Copssh to allow a client to securely sftp files to my network and I'm looking to log the activities. I found a previous thread that explained how to log by setting the Windows Audit Logon policy. This logs my successful and failed sftp logons to my security log, but only if the logon uses password authentication, not when using public/private RSA keys. Does anyone know how I could log my key based logins as well?

    Thanks much!

Copssh is not a piece of software I've come across. However, there is forum dedicated to it at:

    http://www.itefix.no/phpws/index.php?module=phpwsbb&PHPWSBB_MAN_OP=viewforum&PHPWS_MAN_ITEMS=2

It's probably worth you posting there.

BTW, isn't "securely sftp" an oxymoron, as a key 'feature' of sftp is it's lack of management. Do you have to use sftp? If security is an issue, ftp would be a better choice. However, if your using the link to allow firmware updates to hardware, you may have little choice.

    Thanks Reggie, I'll do that.

As for SFTP, it's the client's requirement.

    Thanks again!
