    When sending a FAX with WINFAX (Edit by PeteC Windows Fax), I know I get to choose a cover sheet and then add any text I want.

    I want to be able to SAVE that cover sheet. I need to tell recipients NOT to FAX me back on my computer FAX number without notifying me first so that I can be sure the computer is on.

    Unfortunately, I have gotten replies in the middle of the night when my computer is not on to pick up and their FAX machine continues to try, waking me up continuously.

    tenbob ....

    Moving this to Other Software with title edit as you are not using MS Fax (for which there is a Cover Page Editor}

    Looked like the right forum for me. I am using the built in WinFax that is part of win XP-Home not some other software.

    Sorry - there is a well known piece of fax software called WinFax - that's what threw me :( I'll move it back.

    So I can return to what I was about to post at that stage ....

    Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Fax > Fax Cover Page Editor .... Save As?

    Thanks Pete. That location was not mentioned in any paper sources I checked before I tried this forum.

    One problem. I created a personal page and saved it. I saved as the default file type .cov . During faxing, I tried to preview it and did not have an app that would accept that file type.

    Any ideas?

    Just click on the thumbnail to view it larger in a new window.

    You can preview the Cover Page in the Cover Page Editor - probably elsewhere, but I rarely use the Fax.
