When I drop a DVD into the drive it's quickly scanned for potential applications and those appear in a dialog box. Many of those programs I never use and would like to remove from the list. Can you tell me how to go about doing this?

Registry editing required. First backup the following key.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers

Look at the entries under the following keys and remove as needed.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\HandleCDBurningOnArrival

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\PlayDVDMovieOnArrival
