When sending pdf files by email the recipient gets duplicate emails. I've tried different ways of sending them but the results are always the same. It only happens when I'm sending pdf files.

    I received your email.

I received only one email from you, with only one pdf file attached.

My thought is your user has their mail forwarded to them (so they receive it twice) or they have their email setup twice.....

    To check:

    Choose Tools from Outlook Express
    Accounts
    Mail

Verify each account setup has not been duplicated.

Does any account here, have mail forwarded? Example, windowsbbs forwards to my private account and my work forwards to my private acct

    hmmm

When I send them to others on my list I always copy myself in. I get them twice also. It does not happen with any other email or attachment, just pdf files that I have written.

No-one uses mail forwarding that I'm aware of.

mojo13: Check in your OE under Tools>Accounts>click on an account>Properties>Advanced and see if the box next to "Leave a copy of message on server" is checked. If so uncheck it. Do this for each account you have.

For example I have only one ISP main mail account but have four alias's within that account. If I have that box checked for each alias my OE will download 4 copies of the same e-mail as OE sees the alias's as one account four times.

This may not be your problem but can't hurt to check.

I do my work from two different computers (Work and Home) so I need to keep the keep "copy on the server" checked so I get my mail on both computers.
The problem only happens with the laptop (work). I thought it may be a problem with the Adobe Acrobat ver. 7, because it never happened with ver 6.
After sending the e-mail to Robin, I sent several to myself (at home) and the problem did not occur. The only difference is I have cable at home and dial-up at work. I wouldn't think that would make a difference.

Here is something to try. On the work laptop go into OE and click on "tools" then click on synchronize all and synchronize folder. See if that fixes it. I got that tip from the local newspaper.
