    Hello from a Newbee.

I have come across this site while researching a particular question. This may already have been posted, but search didn't reveal it.

I am installing a more demanding video editing program and want it to have a dedicated OS and hardware profile. There appears to be many options , but a dual boot XP/XP option is one that seems not to have been covered.

What is the best way to dual boot XP and what are the implications please?

    Specifically:

    1. I can get a 3rd disk for my machine very cheaply (2nd currently used for video only). Is this an easier option than partitioning the existing 1st Drive?

    2. Reading the main site it looks as though I simply install XP twice. Is that correct?

    2. What are the implications on the activation key? Do I need to do that twice?

    Many thanks ......... Robin

    dual boot

On the separate drive vers separate partition I would go with another hard drive in your case. You can simply "Clone" your winxp over to another partition or even another hard drive. I would place all your video work on a separate hard drive AWAY from either operating system in case of a serious OS prob.:)

You'll have to purchase another copy of XP in order to install it twice.
