    Hi

I've recently downloaded Spybot and Adaware, but after scanning I've been shown DSO Exploit problems.
    The information shown is;

    Company: Microsoft
    Product: Internet Explorer
    Threat: Security hole

    Company URL: http://www.microsoft.com/
    Company product URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/
    Company privacy URL: http://www.microsoft.com/info/privacy.htm

    Description
There's a security hole in IE allowing websites to execute code without asking you first. You can find more information at http://security.greymagic.com/adv/gm001-ie/

I used the link but being a novice didn't have a clue what to do, any ideas ? I tried downloading IE6 patches but my version won't let them run.

    XP home sp1
    ie 6

Spybot will do a fix for the DSO exploit for you.

    Cheers Markp62

I did a check for problems with Spybot, found the DSO Exploit's again, left the boxes checked, pressed fix problems, then it asked if I wanted to delete them (not knowing what they are or do) said No. Screen updated the DSO's with ticks. now no DSO problems.

Was what I did right? everything seems ok, but I have noticed more attacks on my TCP (thanks to norton for keeping them out)

    Thanks for help buddy

I would say so, Spybot is pretty reliable in what it does.
These TCP port probes are probably other people's computer's infected with some worm or trojan looking for open ports to connect to. Some may be webpages that you have closed just checking if the connection should be left open. Whenever you go to a webpage, your computer usually opens a TCP port in the 1000 range to connect to the servers TCP 80, occasionally IE will open a UDP port.
