Does anyone know of a utility that can look at a Driver .EXE file and list all the files that are in it?

    Thanks,
    gplea

For a self extracting executable WinRar should do the job.

WinZip will also allow you to view the contents of a self-extracting executable and manually extract them if desired. I think the evaluation version is fully functional.

Tanx for the reply guys, but let me rephrase myself...what about an msi installer file. I've got a Digital Audio device that installs with such an installer. Also, are there any key, i.e. VERY DANGEROUS, sensitive Win XP system files that start with ks*.*? This installer file has a bunch of ks*.* files, and when I tried to delete them from the system I ended up having to re-install XP!! The other question along with the utility question is there any utility to find what entries a driver makes in the Registry?

    Tanx,
    George

It really would help if you could pad out the nature and background of your problem/request.
Yes, as a search (incl. hidden files & folders) would have shown ....

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ksproxy.ax
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ksuser.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\ksc.nls
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ks.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ksecdd.sys

plus a load of .inf files.

Extract the content of a .MSI file plus ....
