I had a virus wipe of my boot drive and the DATA directory on my other drive and since it was time anyway, I bought a new machine.

I reinstalled Drive Image and want to restore a DATA directory from another drive. When I look with DOS the backup files are there but when I try to restore with DI, it does not see them. I will call PowerQuest tomorrow but want to fix things now.

First, do you have a .pqi file saved to CD of the DATA directory?

    If not, end of story.

    If you do:

    1) Do you want to install it to a dedicated partition or drive?

    2) Do you want to install it to an exisiting partition? That is, include the old Data drive as part of the new big, single partition drive?

If you have the file, then:

    1) You can restore the .pqi file to a unique partition or drive so long as there is room for the file. It can be larger or smaller than the original dirve (partition).

    2) If you want to put it on an exisiting, bigger single partition, then, put the disc in the CD drive and copy the .pqi files from all the discs (assuming more than one disc) to a folder in the hard drive. You can pull the files out and put them in any directory you choose. Using Image Explorer is a lot like using Windows Explorer.
