I downloaded my Netscape 7.02 but have also ordered the disk.

Question: should I reinstall after I get the disk, incase something buggy happened during the download, or only if I have problems?

ALso, note that when netscape open it says

    NETSCAPE 7.0

But when I click about it says

    NETSCAPE 7.02

Is this a goof or are they just leaving as wondering which version when it initially opens up.

    Thanks Again!! Carol in dc

    Hi Carol,

If 7.02 is installed, just save the disk for posterity. ;)

The User Agent string gives you the correct Version of Netscape. The Splash Screen simply wasn't updated. If you prefer not to see the Splash Screen, you can add -quiet to the executable path, in the Desktop Icon properties.

    Right click the Icon
    Select: Properties
    Click on the Shortcut Tab
Leave one space at the end of the path and add -quiet. It will look similar to this:
    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe" -quiet

Your path will be different, due to your OS.

From about Netscape 4.6, they stopped showing the second decimal point in the splash screen. In most cases it is not necessary to create a new splash screen as there aren't much changes.
