    Heya. my site is called Imps Forum, and this guy said unless i change it, he will get his soliciters in unless i change it as he has copyrighted the name,but the url's are different, so can i keep it the same or do i have to change it? thanks.

    You need to verify that he copyrighted the name. If so, he probably has rights to sue you for stealing his name.

    When in doubt call your attorney.

    That he has copyrighted the name maeans nothing legally. In fact, you have also copyrighted your name & just don't realize it! All one need do to copyright ANY written thing is create it and a copyright is automatically assumed. A copyright costs absolutely nothing.

    For example, this forum owns the copyright on ALL text posted here by users. What you are reading right this very second is copyrighted!

    You have nothing to worry about w/ the person(s) threatening you. In fact, you have every right to solicit him to purchase your domain name.

    Now, a trademark is quite different...The name Microsoft is trademarked, thus one could not have a domain called my-microsoft-stuff.com w/out the possibility of a MS attorney giving you a call.
