    Hi,

I was wandering if someone could take a look at this and tell me what step I should take to rid myself of DMVlite.

I have ran Adaware & Spybot & AVG virus & Online virus scans and I see this DMVLite in my Add/Remove list???

My Computer was all but shut down and I some how got it to run in a diagnostic mode through msconfig and as of now is running ok??? At least enough to write this...

I started my computer back in normal mode and ran HiJackthis here is the log...

    Welcome to WindowsBBS Jessmug :)

Scan again with HijackThis and place a check next to the following entry. Close ALL other windows and click fix.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gah95on6] C:\WINDOWS\system32\gah95on6.exe

    Reboot.
Open C:\WINDOWS\system32 and delete the file gah95on6.exe.

Download RegSearch.zip and extract the contents of the zip file to it's own folder.
Open and double-click the icon for RegSearch.exe to launch the program.
Enter DMVLite in the top window and click "OK ".
After completion Notepad will be opened with all the found instances. Please post that log.

Scan your PC with RAV. If any files are infected, click the report button then copy and paste it here.

Run another HijackThis scan and post the log.

Odd that entry was gone. Did you look for the file?

    You should create a new folder in My Documents named HJT and move HijackThis.exe to it.(sorry I missed that before) Something else I missed in your first log but is not present in the second;
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows AdStatus] C:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus\WinStat.exe
Open C:\Program Files and delete the Windows AdStatus folder if present.

You will need to shut down Spybot's TeaTimer then scan again with HijackThis, place a check next to the following entries, close all other windows and click fix.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [popuppers] C:\WINDOWS\newpop63.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.media-motor.net
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.popuppers.com
    O16 - DPF: {62475759-9E84-458E-A1AB-5D2C442ADFDE} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe

Copy the text from the Quote box below to notepad, edit out the spaces in the word Current (between r and e), then save it to your desktop as RemDMV. Right click the saved file and rename, changing only the txt extension to reg. Now double click to merge it to the registry.

Reboot to safe mode, open C:\WINDOWS and delete the file newpop63.exe.
Open Internet Options in the control panel, security tab, highlight trusted sites and click the Sites button. If the two entries from the HJT log are present, remove them. Click the General tab and delete temporary internet files, including offline content. Then open the Java Plug-in, click the cache tab and then clear. This will only apply if you have installed Sun Java.
Open C:\Temp if present, select all and delete.

    Some trouble

    Thanks again,

So far I followed the steps until I have got to the part------

Copy the text from the Quote box below to notepad, edit out the spaces in the word Current (between r and e), then save it to your desktop as RemDMV. Right click the saved file and rename, changing only the txt extension to reg. Now double click to merge it to the registry.

 I am messing something up here... I keep getting the error

Cannot import: The specified field is not a registry script you can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

I think you maybe I need more intructions on this merging process.

    Sorry

    Thanks again....

Download the zip file attached to this post, extract the reg file and double click to merge.

Looks good. Any more problems with DMV?

    Fix these with HJT.

    O3 - Toolbar: Dogpile Toolbar - {5E92F538-B50B-46c5-9C5F-C6EECED3F6C6} - (no file)
O23 - Service: McAfee SecurityCenter Update Manager - Unknown - C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\Agent\mcupdmgr.exe (file missing)

The missing file on the Dogpile Toolbar entry suggests you will need to re-install if you want to use it.
