DMA problem

    i have very low speed copying files between hd and hd and CD, maybe is a DMA prob, how could be sure thet DMA is working properly in XP?

    In the device manager look in the advanced settings under IDE ATA/ATAPI controlers for both primary and secondary IDE channels. Transfer Mode should be set to DMA if available. Current Transfer Mode will then indicate what Transfer Mode the device is capable.

    If you still suspect a problem, the I suggest updating the motherboard drivers (if available) for your particular motherboard.

    Remember that failing a driver issue (hence the update suggestion) or DMA not correctly set, that the DMA level will be dependent on the capabilities of your hardware.
