    When attemting to run Local Security Policy I recive a message saying "Snap-in failed to initialize" showing the following information:

    CLSID:{8FC0B734-A0E1-11D1-A7D3-0000F87571E3}

    "The Snap-in is not created it may not be installed properly "

    So I tried to run system restore but this has given me an error box telling me it cannot find FRAMEDYN.DLL.

    Upon investigation it appears both of these require this DLL, I was unable to extract (Search not found) from the Windows XP Professional CD.

    Does anybody know where it should reside on my system (the DLL) and where can I obtain a copy of it.

    Thank you
    Paul

    Thanks for the reply, I also found it in the same place, but it required a repair of XP to get everything back to normal.

    I wish I knew what caused the errors I thought XP was supposed to be more intelligent, but thats computers!
