    Hi,
I am having a problem with displaying small font text when I am looking at a web page. For example, when I look at WindowsBBS the small font text appears distorted. On this particular page ( post thread) there are selection buttons; the small text for No icon and Enhanced mode are not clear. For the word "icon" it is distorted and about 60% visible.
This problem only began recently. While the small text was never superior before, it was very clear.
When I copy and paste this text onto a word page, it will then display the text perfectly clear. Larger text, and text on my desktop are also clear. The small text in Windows Help is also affected in the same way.
I am running Win98 on a Dell XPS R450, with a Trinitron hi res 17" monitor. NVidia RIVA TNT2 64 Pro video card.
Any idea on how to clear up this text?
    Thanks!!

It almost sounds as though you may have accidently changed the font size. Does it seem smaller than it used to? If so, in IE click view>text size>medium and see if that help. If you have a wheel mouse you can also do this by holding down the ctrl key and scrolling the mouse wheel at the same time. If I set mine to the smallest, the smallest text on the page becomes blurry (though readable). This setting will also change the text size in windows help.

    Zander,
Yes, that mouse wheel thing worked with my IE browser!
I didnt even know you could do that. Somehow the font got reset
along the way to a very small size ( some panic reboot ? ).
Wheeling it up a notch fixed it back.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to do the same thing
    on my AOL browser.
    Thanks!!!

Glad to hear it fixed you up. I would be willing to bet somewhere along the line you accidently did it with the mouse wheel. Could be you used the ctrl key for something else and it stuck for a bit, scroll the wheels and there you go. Who really knows? Doesn't really matter as long as things get back to normal.
