I have been told that I can improve the performance of my computer by turning off the disk performance counters. I don't use them, actually I don't even understand them.

However, when i type diskperf -n into the command prompt I just get a message saying "disk performance counters on this system are automatically enabled on demand ".

    Can anyone please comment?

    Thank you

I think you read some really old info...but if it is already on and you turn it off - you and 100 people couldn't tell any difference whats so ever in performance.
