When I run Norton Disk doctor, it tells me I have some problems wth my indexes that can nly be fixed with a reboot (and then a run of chkdsk). I reboot, chkdsk runs, no correctios are indicated, and then once back in windows, disk doctor tells me the same thing. I'm not experiencng any problems with my PC.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

    Thanks.

More than likely a quirk of Norton - either ignore it or check out the Symantec website.

As you originally posted in the XP forum - for peace of mind (?) boot to Safe Mode, go Start > Run and type in chkdsk /r and reboot.

Sorry for my delay in responding, PeteC. I was on vacation. But thanks for the tip. I'll try it.
