disk cleanup tool in xp

    For some reason my disk cleanup tool has stopped working, it just hangs there and doesn't do anything. I do not have a clue about how to fix this. Can someone please help?

    It's due to a corrupted temp file. Either delete all temp files manually, or Run regedit.

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Volumecaches\Compressoldfiles

    Export the key and delete it. Run Disk Cleanup, then return the key.

    Get the latest Windows updates.
