    For home networking purpose :

Hi Today I setup dialup server,(insatalled modem aswell) I installed Routing and remote access at my windows 2000 server. I enabled Dhcp server for automatic IP. when i am trying to connect from other pc(Place) by Dialup connection to my server. I can transfer Data from server to client pc( I have Active directory installed) but problem is. i cant access internet connection . At server pc , i have internet connection. So i want to share that internet connection to client pc by dialup. what i have to do to share this internet connection from server pc to client(via dialup connection), when i am connected from client pc to server (by dialup) , when i check at ipconfig/all at client pc, then it shows this kind of configuration :

    ip :192.168.1.4
    Some time its shows :Subnetmask:255.255.255.0
Some time it shows : 255.255.255.255

    Gateway:192.168.1.4
(when it should be : 192.168.1.1)
    Dns : 192.168.1.1

Since Gateway is not same as server, thats why its not getting interconnection.

Is there any way to fix this problem ?? or do i need to enable anything ??
    Another thing.
I have 2 Nic card. first one is connected to my ISp and second one is for local connection. Second one is using for Static ip address for dns and dhcp.

i will help full if u give me any solution or refer me to any site .

I am pretty sure this is a server configuration problem. As the dial-up is point to point the gateway is the other end of the dial-up - that is the server, rather than the network gateway router.

I think you need to enable packet forwarding and/or change the access rights on the server to allow access beyond the server. I don't know the settings you need to change, but hopefully an expert in the server forum will.

I don't think that would help. You have basically figured out the issue yourself with the IP addressing. If you manually set your IP when connected with the correct subnet and gateway do you get a internet connection.
