    Hi Guys

I just had a meeting with someone. i am a IT technician support primary schools

He goes all workstations should have 100mb link and the switches that are currently 1gb should stay 1gb.

Shouldn't the workstation be 1gb as well??

he went as the machines are 1gb, the network goes slow with that and to speed it up you need 100mb :S

    can someone guide me please?

    thanks in advance

If use 1 gb switches, to get gb transfer rates, the comps will need gb network adapters and you will also need gb cabling and a gb router.

    Brilliant!

Sounds like the guy I installed an IP phone system for yesterday and didn't want it on his network or the internet!
