I have about 25 icons the desktop. Several are from different sites on the WWW. I have noticed that the Icons change sometimes from their original icon. What causes this and how can it be corrected?

The original icon was stored in your TIF's and when they eventually get pushed out by newer entries, the icon of the shortcut you created will revert to a Windows default.

If you want to dedicate some effort, you can copy the particular icons from the TIF folder and place them into a folder of your creation. The reassign the icon of the Desktop shortcut to the one in your folder. Then it'll stay permanently as you like it. You can look in the TIF folder and arrange the display by file type. Then look for the files with the .ico extension. That will be the ones to select from.

If these shortcuts are such that you change them often, it won't likely justify the effort.
