Have 3 files in recycle bin that I am unable to delete. Get an error message about access violation &/or being shared. Have uninstalled the programs that they were attched to.

My question is how do I go about deleting them? Thanks in advance for any help.

Does your logon have local or domain admin rights? It may be needed to completely remove the files.

If so, try to "take ownership" of them and then remove.

Or try logging on as a different user (if you can) and clearing them then. I'm not really sure what "normal" behavior is on 2K - as in, is there a recycle bin for each user or combined - since I'm running Norton and the recycle bin is combined but that may be a change the utility made when I installed it.

If that fails, can you say what files/programs since there may be something running that wants them although if they did get to the recycle bin, that is very unlikely. It is also possible that a virus is causing the behavior. There are so many out there these days that I wouldn't even begin to look for a solution without the file names.
