Is there a way to recover deleted emails through Outlook 2003 Pro? I am using Windows XP pro. They have been deleted out of the deleted folder.

    Depends on your setup.

We use MS Exchange and there is a feature that saves deleted emails for whatever number of days we specify, we use 10 days.

Any other type of setup I'm not real sure about.

What email service do you use?

Any chance they are still on your ISP's server? I can log into my account ( great for traveling) and read my email, and delete what I want. If I don't log in, after 14 days or so much space, they automatically delete themselves.

If you deleted them from the deleted items folder, they are there, until the space they occupy is overwritten, but the comp has deleted the path to find them.

Another workaround is to ask the sender to send them again. Most people have all their "sent email" if they use OE.

Best of luck, and please post back with your solution.

I have checked and they still arent on the server. I am actually trying to retrieve an email from someone that said she never sent one. I tried using DBXtract but when I browse for the destination file the Extract button dispears. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for all the input.

jcol26--Sorry to hear you are not having success with DBXtract. I presume you are following the instructions carefully. Are you finding any files in the DeletedFiles.dbx folder? Perhaps "Extract" is not active if there are none. Or do you first have to highlight what you want to extract?
Did you see that another, supposedly better, program is offered, DBXpress

If you know you got an email from this person, then so be it. But be aware there are viruses that will infect other people's PC's and then send emails using the addresses in the Address Book on the other PC. Sometimes the Address Book is also used to create sending addresses as well, so that person who claims to not have sent you an email, may not be incorrect--at least as far as her involvement.

I am using Microsoft Outlook not Outlook Express, does this matter with using DBXtract?

I haven't used the product but since the web site clearly says Outlook Express and since Outlook uses a single .pst file rather than a .dbx file for each folder, I highly doubt it would work.
