delete e-mail address

i am trying to delete my e-mail address. i want it gone. such as if someone e-mails that address they get a "user unknown" respsonse from the MAILDAEMON. i think i know how to get rid of it on locally, but i have a funny feeling it will still exist on server. i use Netscape 7.1, my address is xxxxxxxx@netscape.net, i want to rid of it completely. i wont post my server IMAP address thingies cuz i know that'd be dumb. so what are my options?

I don't know if it is still possible to cancel the web mail account, or at least I couldn't find a recent reference in Help which discussed cancellation. However, if you don't log in for more than 30 consecutive days, Netscape Webmail presumes that your account is inactive. All messages in your account are permanently deleted, and you wont be able to receive new messages. If after that period of time, you wanted to continue to use Netscape Webmail, you could then Register with a new user name.

The following info is from the Netscape Communicator FAQ, but you might give it a try. I seriously doubt if the email address is still good, but who knows!
