when I use auslogics disc defragmenter, it takes about 15-20 minutes to run. If I use the windows program (from accessories), it takes well over an hour, maybe 2 I believe. Is auslogics doing as thorough a job?

Hi Bernyx. Yes the Auslogics Disk Defrag program is doing a better job than the built in Windows Disk Defragmenter. I use the Auslogics program myself and I think its far superior compared to the Windows Defrag Utility. Don't worry if it the Auslogics defrag runs faster. Thats what the developers designed it to do. :)

Your Welcome. Regarding Auslogics Boost Speed, I don't think its worth getting. All the tweaks in that program can be done with other free programs or can be done yourself. Don't waste your money on it. ;)

I use abexo registry cleaner, but I've also seen posts on here to stay away from using registry cleaners, what do you think?

I saw this thread earlier today and thought the defrag program was promising, so I downloaded and installed it without any problem. When I ran the program, it found my C:\ drive to be 25% fragmented, and 21 minutes later it was done. My E:\ drive contains my SeaMonkey browser and e-mail client, which includes lots of saved messages, and that took quite a bit longer but also went well. I like the program and will keep it. For a long time I've been wanting a free defragger to replace the one built into Windows, anyway.

When I checked for reviews of the Boost Speed program, it didn't look promising to me and I wound up with the same thinking as Evan Omo expresses in his latest post. I'll take a pass on that program.

Thanks for the complement Bobbo. :) I personally don't like registry cleaners and they can cause more harm to a system than good. Read this article for more information, Why I don't Use Registry Cleaners.

I use Auslogics and "Smart Defrag" and I like both of them.
I have been using "Registry Mechanic" for about 3 Years and have never experienced any problems with it seems to be doing a good job.
    That's my 2 cents worth.
