My wife performed maintenance after upgrading to "Performance Toolkit" via PC Tools from "Desktop Maestroâ€. I believe "Performance Toolkit" did too good of a job. It deleted all the restore points and caused Vista to start giving the same error 11 times for one malfunction.

The window states, "csc.exe "“ Bad Image" and the error are, "C:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\cscomp.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."

It seems this error pops up randomly but only if you are working with the computer. I can invoke the error when trying to create a restore point. This is the only error. In the history of the computer McAfee was able to block a virus. Could this be related? How do I fix the error?

    Thank you,
    Sam Jobe

    Fixed

    Problem solved.

Followed Microsoft's led. Looked in the Installer folder added a Comments column header. Uninstalled(under right click) framework 1.1 which has the comments "Microsoft .NET Framework (English) RTL x86 enu "

Went to Microsoft Downloads and installed it again. All is well now.

Now that I fixed it I need to find out what caused it. Thanks.

    Performance Toolkit.

I would steer clear of all these so called performance/registry/computer enhancements kits. They are nothing more than a mismatched jumbled piece of software put together to fleece general public.

I understand thats all I wanted was a dependable cleaner. HP recommended it to me. But I didnt do anything about it. You recommended it so I gave it a shot. I trust the bbs members.
