    Hi all,
I'm having a problem with the sound controls on a friend's computer. I can't keep the volume settings down. Every time I try to turn down the volume using the windows controls it only holds until the computer is restarted. Then the volume goes all the way back up. This is an HP system running Windows ME with a crystal audio sound card. I'm not getting any error messages and there are no problems in the device manager. This is a secondhand computer that did not have an operating system when it was given to him. I'm thinking that maybe there should be a seperate software program for this card. I have not had much luck with cystal audio or HP for support. Is there something else I should check? Maybe in the registry? Or would this simply be just a driver issue?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go to the HP website and download the drivers.
