My CPU is runniung at 170* F after only 30 min. of use. Which is 76* C... By what I understand the normal is anywhere between a low 30*C and a high 50*C

I have two fans running full capacity flowing air through the tower. And other components like my Video card are having no temperature problems. Any ideas other than replacing the CPU/motherboard?

Have you checked that the CPU fan is running properly and cleaned out any dust bunnies lodged in the fins of the CPU heatsink?

If the fan is OK and the heatsink clear of dust I would look to replacing the thermal paste between the CPU and the heat sink. Use Arctic Silver and make sure that both surfaces are scrupulously clean before applying the paste. Take great care when removing the heat sink so as not to damage the CPU or it's pins. At the temps you note the old paste is likely to have hardened somewhat.

The fan is working fine and the heat sink is clear since once every 3 month I air-hose my Computer's interior. I will try to get some thermal paste to replace the former. Do I mark as resolved for now?

No - post an update when the issue is resolved - at present it is not :)
