could it be spyware

Every now and then, i am noticing that i am losing the internet connection, and in order to get back online, I need to restart the pc and everything comes back the normal.

Eventually, this sometimes happen after 4 hrs of internet usage, sometimes even less, maybe 2 hrs.

I am on cable internet, and i use an updated anti-virus and a firewall.

Do you think that this has to do with some kind of spyware/malware/virus, etc or do you think that it may have something to do with my ISP ?

Almost certainly NOT spyware or virus. If you say what OS you are running, I'll move the thread there and see if we can sort things out.
