Anyone have a tip for a good and free program the converts .avi movies to .mpeg? I have problems playing back .avi on some programs and CD/DVD players.

    Thanks,
    C

    Thanks for that info.
    Sorry being late -
I just wondered what movie formats, saved to a CD-R, might play back in most CD players. Apparently some play and some don't. The avi files don't play in what I am using.

.avi files should play fine in Windows, you might need the Divx Codec Pack, but other than that you should encounter no problems. Occationally (rarely) there is an audio problem, but thats also easy to fix.

.wmv will always play in windows. Now do you want to make a CD that can play on a home DVD player??? If thats the case and your home player will support it, Super does have an option to convert to VCD or SVCD, which will play on some home DVD players.

Now there is an option to make a .vob file (DVD compliant), but there is a little more to making a workable DVD.
