Contacts window empty (OE6)

suddenly all the contacts have disappeared from the window in OE6. They are available as normal by opening the address book or clicking 'to' in a message. The contacts window is working normally in other identities on this machine. But mine just says 'there are no contacts to display'.

Any suggestions ?

thanks for the reply, but that's not the problem.

The 'contacts' box in layout is checked and the window is there...but it's empty apart from 'there are no contacts to display...'

A really dumb thing that sometimes works is to toggle the feature off and then back on so uncheck the box, shut down the app, reboot, start the app, check the box, and see if something good happened.

If not and since this is recent, do you have a restore point from before the contacts vanished?
