I have a laptop which wont boot because the config.sys file is missing. After reading up on this, these are the options:
    1. Run Last known Good Configuration
    2. Use the Windows Recovery Console
    3. Use the "Repair" option of the Windows Installation Process
    4. Back up all data from HDD and reload XP.

Now I'm totally new to all this, and do NOT want to ***** up. Which of these options are most likely to work?

    Thanks
    Chazz

Windows XP doesn't use the config.sys file. Win98 does...

You can modify the Config.nt file found in the C:\Windows\System32 folder to do things to help DOS apps.
