My company is about to receive 200new computers all pre-loaded with WindowsXP Pro. Does anyone know an easy how to set the computer name, workgroup, domain, and computer description without have to do it manually? Is there a way to pull this information from a data base or CD?

I'd like to be able to reconfigure this information w/o having to manually changing each computers name, ect. I'd realy like to avoid going to each machine and assigning this info.

    Thanks!

... set the computer name, workgroup, domain, and computer description...

Which is it, workgroup or domain?

Do you have any remote control tools other than those included with XP? Some of them will allow you to do much of this remotely so you could at least avoid a physical visit to each desktop.

If you have an OEM vendor making up the systems for you, they are probably using sysprep for the job and there are command line switches they can use to make those modifications at OS load time.

the only tools we have are the ones which are coming with XP. some systems will join domains, orthers will just belong to workgroups.

    Thanks for your help!
