Completely Remove Messenger

I notice when using Task Manager, that Windows Messenger returns after I delete it. It uses quite a bit of memory and I wish to know how to completely delete it from my computer. Thank you.

 

if u purge it, it'll pop up on windowsupdate.com most likely. there u DO have the option of 'hiding' it or ... just ignore it.

if u'r xp pro, u can do the admin templates to stop it from loading and prevent it from running on the local machine via start/run gpedit.msc. see both admin template sections 'windows components' and u'll find messenger. set both options to enabled or just set the autostart one which will stop it from loading at startup but still allow u to run manually. this is what i do on all machines.

note above will not work on home and i have no solution there. i don't use home much. i'd also add the killing it won't improve performance or mem use as win will consume much of available RAM no matter what u do ... best bet in the arena is to just add more RAM.
