Is there any specific task that causes the computer to crash? What OS? You say it won't restart, but that it "keeps" shutting down. How long does it take to restart after a shutdown? (thinking heat!)

Does it happen when on battery power or when on external power also?

If only when on battery power, check the battery for good contact.

I had it happen to me on a well worn HP OmniBook, especially when I moved it.
