    I have the following problem:
When I try to open a program in the desktop, clicking(one or twice) does'nt work. It only works if I click with the right button and then click on OPEN. It is the same if I try to open a mail in the outlook. This problem does not appear if I click the programs in the task bar.
    Any hint?
    Regards

Have any new programs recently been installed? Did this just start happening?

Try booting into safe mode to see if the same problem is still occurring. If not, reboot and then run msconfig. Go to your startup items and uncheck everything except explorer and systray. When you reboot see if the problem is gone. If it is, then it is probably a startup program causing the trouble. Check the programs one at a time rebooting after each, until you find the program causing the problem.

    Thank you everyone,
Last night I found out that the in the settings of the mouse, the speed for the double click had been set to a maximum by an uncontrolled agent(my little son). So I was not able to double click fast enough and therefore I only manage to open things that required a single click.
    Thanks again
