    Hi ningaming!
And might I say WOW!

You do indeed have a whack of stuff loading don't you?

I'll help you identify them if I can. Until then..........

You might want to go to your start button.....then to run.....type in: msconfig.....hit ok...then look under your start up tab for things that you can uncheck.

Here are two links to tell you what those items are:

    Msconfig entries
    and
    More of the same

    Uncheck these:

    taskswitch.exe
ALT+TAB replacement Powertoy for Windows XP - enhances the graphics displayed when you want to switch between programs running full-screen. Not required

    fast.exe
Installs as part of Windows XP PowerToys as an option for very-fast user switching (allowing a keystoke to switch users instead of using the login screen). It is only used for the hot-key switch and yet it hogs 1.5 megs of memory in two separate processes (one run by the user & one by the system). 3 megs of memory for one stinking hot-key. It is an optional install in PowerToys

    msmsgs.exe
MSN Messenger Service. Not required at startup unless it is used regularly. An easier way to remove it from startup is to open the program, go to Tools|Options and uncheck "Run this program when Windows starts" on the Preferences tab. If you are running IE6, you should also go into Outlook Express to Tools|Options and on the General tab uncheck the item that loads MSN Messenger at startup.

    EM_EXEC.EXE
This is mouse software. Some users uncheck it with no problem. Try unchecking it and if problems occur, restore it to Startup.

    edit:
im gonna keep msgs, considering i have broadband connection, i like to keep that baby running all day incase someoen needs to leave me a message.

i've unchecked the rest, not quite sure about that mouse one, considering my "I Feel Mouse" uses some special stuff, whenver you scroll over clickable items, the mouse responds and sort of "clicks" (makes a bit of a vibration)

yeah i've been playing with a few of em, but dont feel that comfortable taking certain processes off.....any help would be appreciated, and thanks for the lists, i've knocked a few off with them...

    Hi again ningaming
If you don't feel comfortable.....then by all means leave them there. Or in the very least... you can always go back in and re-check them if need be.
