Chkdsk/f.

    my sis is having this issue her computer will not run this file and her nortons 2006 will not let her run her computer until it is ran. how does she find this program to run this file

    The user must be a member of the Administrators Group.
    There has to be space between chkdsk and any parameter. The following syntax forces a chkdsk /f if the system volume is required to be checked:

    For NTFS filestore drives only, not for FAT32 drives:

    Start, Run, chkdsk /x c:

    Note the space after chkdsk and after /x

    For FAT32 drives, use the GUI approach:

    Open My Computer.
    Right click on the drive to be checked, and select Properties.
    Under Tools, Error Checking -- Check Now, click both boxes. A chkdsk is then scheduled. Reboot.
