    Hey everyone,

    I need some help in finding some good programs.
    I have a 4 yr old neice who will be hopping on the comp., very soon.

    I have had several family members and friends ask me about software concerning safety from **** etc. on the internet.

    I have no experience with this, and would appreciate any comments on past/ present experiences involving safety software on the internet.

    Thanks a ton,
    Rookie

    Thanks,
    Thats the problem. I've found too many.

    I'm trying to use excel to pin down a few. Some prevent e-mail, chat, etc. some don't cost. Server or client based- Blah Blah.Blah.
    Anyones past or current experiences are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rookie

    Hi Rookie

    I DONT see what good any computerspyingsystem would do !
    different purpose , besides we spend allot of time trying to get rid of keyboarders Trojans thing that are stealth and avoid detection and phone home to whoever they want to,that get installed with and without our consent ,sometimes not reading the license agreement carefully enough when we install something etc etc etc .....freeware shareware and plain old anyware..

    Ive heard Ironically having the right good and highly recommended keylogers activity monitor software can help combat the bady's out there, in there I should say
    (your computer).
    SINCE THEY ARE OFTEN WRITEN BY THE SAME PEOPLE

    But all you might need is not to use any messenger type service maybe and then only if you have seen the popup that come from some nasty sites, search here for popup-blockers or stopers.
    and if you still want to use them take preventative measure fist if you want to use them..

    I don't recommend using IE's content adviser things can get difficult
    shouldn't say because Ive never used it..
    ==============================================
    By the way you didn't say what operating system and browser and version of you have ? nor type of service---ISP------
    ==============================================
    If its IE, Internet explorer I have an Idea ER two..
    for a four year old,, not for her saftey( well for that to) but for your's and Internet Explorer's-- health and well being---saftey.
    To prevent her from changeing IE's settings thus cousing unsafe sites from appearing.and such..
    Namely spyBots disable user from using IE option's

    And please remember not to jump on any suggestions without first waiting for other suggestion's and checking them out first
    even read,, read up.

    Spybot and spyware-blaster are safe and recommended often here and are for most anybody's windows
    SpywareBlaster - http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html
    Compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4, 2000, XP.
    same for the other
    Regards
    Lonny
